Shakespeare Poster

This is an image I painted for a project in which we had to choose a work from Shakespeare, and then create a poster for them. For this poster I choose to paint the three witches from Macbeth. I tried to do this in the style of Dr. Ignacio, but the paper didn't spread the ink as well as it did with the last poster

Simplification Through Symbolism

For this week, our project was to take quotes and turn them into symbols. The three quotes I chose are from songs that I listen to. The first quote is " Just a Rainbow in the Dark ". The first symbol is almost a homage to Pink Floyd's Dark side of the Moon Album cover. It is a black and white rainbow going through a black triangle. The second symbol shows a rainbow tucked into the white space of a crescent moon

The second quote I had was " Master of Puppets, I'm Pulling Your Strings". For the symbol I took inspiration from the current events of Russia and Ukraine. The symbol is two hands that are pulling strings which are the latitude and longitude lines on the globe. The globe is showing the Soviet Union Russia

The last quote I had was " This Tragedy's Like Light to Flies ". I decided to juxtapose a fly, a lightbulb and two gravestones together to highlight the important words in the quote Tragedy, Light, and Flies

Emotional CYRK Poster

This is an ink painting I did under the pseudonym "Dr. Ignacio". The painting shows a CYRK style painting. The other requirements were that the art be in a style that you've never done before, and express your new pseudonym's feelings. I choose to do a painting using two different colored inks black and scarlet. My pseudonym is an old southerly gentleman with a degree in psychology. he has a fondness for both mystery and life, which are expressed in the fire and mask of the fire-breather.

This was the character for my made up pseudonym Dr. Ignacio. He is a scholarly gentleman who has a degree in psychology and loves mysteries above all things

New Yorker Phrase Narratives

For this comic, my concept idea was to show a person using using medication to get themselves through a situation instead of simply laying down and taking a nap. The problem I had trying to concept the idea was getting one person to say the phrase while the other person was doing the medication, so I came up with the idea of drawing the person in  their bathroom and looking in the mirror, thus saying the phrase to themselves. it is if the are telling themselves to not do this.

I decided to try to make my next comic humorous, so here we go. We have a therapy session going on with two beds. one of the beds is a patient and the other is Dr. Sealy. Dr. Sealy is telling the patient the phrase "Have a treatment that includes lying down". Its funny because we lie on beds and the reader will hopefully draw that connection. Or it won't be funny.
